‘frugi bonae’ - To or for the good fruit; being honest and temperate, dedicated to long-term flourishing; as vital for human beings as for the earth itself.
This mixed media body of work explores collective cause and effect, in particular relations between humankind and the environment. Bees are a primary source of inspiration, in their role as environmental indicator. Thematically, the artworks lay emphasis upon mechanisation of natural processes, the consequences of human development on the environment and ecological impact. It also engages with individual and collective agency. The exhibition includes sculptural lightboxes, mixed media works, paintings and artworks on paper. A catalogue was produced.
